TÛRANOR PlanetSolar: Round the World Powered by Solar Energy in 2011

The goal of this worldwide unique project is to sail around the world with a multi hull vessel powered solely by solar energy. The trip will take approximately 140 days at a remarkable average speed of 8 knots – an environmentally friendly and almost silent way of travelling.

Christening and launching of TŪRANOR PlanetSolar was on 31st March 2010. Several stopovers in major port cities along the equator are planned for this round-the-world trip in order to bring this amazing project close to the people and also to make the population aware of renewable energies.
