UCA – 86′ IRC Racer
This 86′ high performance cruiser was designed and built for the 2003 Daimler Chrysler North Atlantic Challenge, a race from New York to Cuxhaven, Germany celebrating the 10th anniversery of the Hamburgischer Verein Seefahrt, organizing club of this race.
With a maximum speed exceeding 30 knots UCA finished in the top ranks and won one year later in 2004 the 600 miles Rund Skagen race.
UCA was exclusively made for racing, designed by Judel/Vrolijk and built by Knierim as the first ever built boat on the new yard at the Kiel Canal. Knierim’s owners Gunnar Knierim and Steffen Müller used their wealth of experience from former projects to built UCA within 212 days from mould construction to maiden voyage.
Thanks to her size UCA has been not only been an eyecatcher here in Northern Europe but also a potential candidate for first-ship-home honors in various races.
