Management

On January 6th, 1965, master boat builder Günter Knierim founded the Günter Knierim yacht and boatyard in Laboe. In the years that followed, the company grew steadily and made a name for itself beyond the borders of Germany.

In May 2000, his son Gunnar Knierim took over the management of Knierim Yacht- und Bootswerft GmbH. Under the leadership of the 1993 Admiral's Cup winner, who had already made a name for himself as a builder of high-tech regatta yachts on various ILLBRUCK projects, completely new opportunities opened up for the shipyard. As a logical consequence of the growing interest in large high-tech composite boats, he founded Knierim Yachtbau GmbH on the Kiel Canal in 2002, whose first project was the construction of the largest German ocean-going racing yacht UCA.

In order to meet the new requirements even better, Steffen Müller joined Knierim Yachtbau GmbH as a partner. With the experience gained from building several racing yachts and his involvement in the "Illbruck America's Cup Campaign", the Admiral's Cup winner takes over the link between design and boat building.
